WINTER WOODPECKERS

I get three woodpeckers. I get the Downy, male and female. I also get the Hairy but I have not been able to photograph him rather skittish. I also get the Red-bellied. Male and a female. I have found that the Downy woodpecker is rather friendly. I have had him land almost on me a few times. I was hanging out my feeders when he just landed on the suet and started eating. It is so amazing and an honor to be that close to the bird. I can just feel my stress melting. He will even look me in the eye. Looks at me like hi and just does back to eating. I have put out two suet feeders now. It was sad to watch them waiting in line to eat. I have tons of House Sparrows that like the suet as well. I am sure I could use more but two will have to due for now.
